NTJSA Results and reports.

Under 12 boys won 3-2. Attacking well, and started to use the wings to go forward. Still conceding goals in games they are winning and need to work on keeping some clean sheets. Zack Reid and Nick deJong made valuable contributions.

Under 14 Blue took their first win for the season after 3 defeats by 1 goal. Score was 7-3. These boys still have plenty of potential and room to improve as a team unit, as they are playing largely as individuals. Hamish Woollett scored the goal of the game, being on the end of a well constructed attack, holding his wide position on the far side of the goal box, waiting for the cross and striking truly.

Under 14 White lost their semi final 3-1, but played well, and are still under manned. The opposition coach applauded their efforts at the end of the game. A very sporting gesture from the coach of the Westside Scorpions, and good luck to them in their final.  Best player for Rangers was Jesse Brown.

Under 16 Red also lost a semi final. Had 3 good players out, and games like this will be hard enough as it is. Still a good effort against the team shaping up as the competitions hardest to beat, and only went down 2-0. The boys understand the system, just need to improve the skills needed to play it better.  Best player was Joshua Hinds.

Under 16 Blue bounced back after last week's abysmal second half, to run away with a 9-1 win. Instead of fading in the second half, they finished strongly. Midfield functioned well with the boys stringing plenty of passes together. Caleb, Tim and Calum were better players in a good team effort, and there is still room for improvement.

Under 14 Red continued on their merry way through to the final with a 10-0 win, yet weren't at their best. Their opposition were certainly not division 1 class. Difficult to pick a best player, which is perhaps this team's greatest strength.
