Co Coach Gabriel Tams said he was happy with the progress of the clubs flag ship side, despite going down 4-0 to Ulverstone in game two of the Launceston City run, Mies Family Cup.
Northern Rangers kicked their first balls for 2012, going up against Launceston City in the Mies Family Cup, a competition that gives the clubs a chance to see where they are at in the early stages of preseason with 50 minute matches.
Mel Cuschieri and Rod Fulton have decided to bring the Under 18 Preseason training forward due to the interest already shown so the Preseason dates and times for 2012 are as follows.
Every Monday and Wednesday afternoon from the 16th of January starting at 4:30pm to 6:00 pm at the NTCA No 2 Ground. Please bring sand shoes.
Steve Hudson Cup has been entered for our Under 18s which starts on the 12th of Feb, so this will serve as a good preparation for this.

Todd Hingston backed up his 2009 and 2010 league Best and Fairest George Dale Medals with another fine effort securing the award again in 2011, sharing the accolade with a fine player in Mark Baker from Prospect Knights. Both players polled 20 votes to win the honour.
Chris McKenna from Devonport was the raging hot favourite to win the award, but missed out by just 1 point, and would have been a worthy winner also, but in the eyes of the referees. Mark Baker and Todd Hingston were adjudged the leagues best players.
In another coup for the Rangers, and a first for the club, Yitay Towns won the Under 18s league best and fairest award, following a fine season taking 20 votes to win the award 4 points clear of his nearest rival. His efforts have been outstanding and defiantly a player to watch in 2012, at the tender age of 15, Yitay has a lot of promise in front of him.
