The Northern Rangers best and fairest count has been conducted with the main award going down to the wire yet again.  With one game to play Andrew Nicholson, Patty Lanau-Atkinson, Derek Schipper and Scott Murray were all in the race to win the award, however Murray was unable to play that last fixture so was officially out of the running.

It was eventually awarded to Derek Schipper, a true club champion taking out his 6^th Club best and fairest award, but was full of praise for his team mates in his acceptance speech, particularly Andrew Nicholson who was searching for his maiden senior Best and Fairest accolade.

It has to be said that Scott Murray, Todd Hingston, Patty Lanau Atkinson and Andrew Nicholson all had exceptional years and were all unlucky in a way not to be standing with Derek at the end.

The top placed vote winners were:

For the Reserves it was a two way tie between Tenzing Anderson and Joey Summers tied on 13 points each.

It was a surprise but convincing win in the Under 18s with Adam Letter upsetting the favourite Josh Burk winning with 25 votes.

In the League One, Marcus Gappy took out the award for the Reds, while Tim Armstrong one it by a whisker over Simon Petrusma for the Blues.

Women’s was taken out by Flicity Shaw on 19 points, winning her second club Best and Fairest in a row.
