The 2012 season is upon us and now is the time to commit to the Northern Rangers.  The committee have worked hard during the off-season and will continue this effort to ensure NRFC have a successful 2012.  Please read the president's message below, download the attached files and be sure to register for 2012 as soon as possible.

Go to http://www.myfootballclub.com.au/ to register as a player.  Registration is relatively straight-forward and the attached guide is available if necessary.  To be eligible to play in this weekend's Hudson Cup you must be registered by 11:55pm Wednesday 8th February. All registration fees must be paid by the 6th of April 2012.

This is your chance to represent Northern Rangers at the A-League Match between Melbourne Victory and Gold Coast United in the half time Cross bar challenge.

Each Club in Tasmania has been given the opportunity to nominate one player who will compete in the challenge on behalf of their club for a signed Melbourne Victory Strip and the nominated player receives free entry to the game also.

So our intra club challenge will take place on Wednesday (25^th of Jan) prior to training at 5:40 sharp to decide who shall represent Northern Rangers.  You must be present prior to the competition kicking off and you can not join half way through.

This is open to anyone in the club including Seniors, Reserves, Under 18s, Women’s and League One players.  Just turn up to compete.

Mel Cuschieri and Rod Fulton have decided to bring the Under 18 Preseason training forward due to the interest already shown so the Preseason dates and times for 2012 are as follows.

Every Monday and Wednesday afternoon from the 16th of January starting at 4:30pm to 6:00 pm at the NTCA No 2 Ground. Please bring sand shoes.

Steve Hudson Cup has been entered for our Under 18s which starts on the 12th of Feb, so this will serve as a good preparation for this.

If you are thinking about playing football for Northern Rangers in 2012, then it’s time to dust of the boots and head down to the NTCA.

Northern Rangers are extremely excited to announce some changes to the 2012 Women’s Coaching structure.  Jaime Foskett has elected to step aside as the Women’s Coach to allow Andrew Langley to take over as Women’s Coach, and Jaime will take over as team Manager and represent the side to the clubs Committee.

Following the Northern Rangers AGM in November, the club is pleased to announce the office bearers for the 2012 season.

Mark Jefferson takes over as only the clubs third president, after Mark Ackerly decided to step down after a decade as the clubs president.  Marshall Pooley stays on as the clubs Director of Finance, while Luke Connors was re-elected as the clubs Vice President, but this will be his final year on the board.  Brendan Lichtendonk moves back into the club Secretary Role, and Todd Hingston will complete the board portfolios as the new Public Relations Director.

With the 2012 season fast approaching Northern Rangers have moved to firm up their plans for the 2012 Season, appointing a coaching team to lead the group through the 2012 campaign.

Three time George Dale Winner Todd Hingston joins the clubs leadership group, working closely with Gabriel Tams and Marshall Pooley.

For the three it will be their first time in such positions, but the club is excited at what the trio will bring to the side at a leadership level with some fresh thinking  All have played under Roslan Sa’ad and Adam Whitemore, and all are keen to see the current brand of football the club has adopted, continue and improve into the future.

Training will commence on Monday the 9^th of January 2012 at the NTCA from 6pm, and continue every Monday and Wednesday from there on, unless otherwise stated on the clubs website.  Friday sessions will again feature from late January at Churchill Park from 6pm to 7pm.

Additional preseason fitness work will include Monday evening runs from Monday the 21^st of November, the group will be leaving from the Launceston Rugby club car park, and all intending players are encouraged to attend.

On the Women’s front, the club has appointed Jaime Foskett to lead the Women into a new era of football as he looks to take discipline to a higher level amongst the Women’s ranks.  He will be assisted by Jacquie Latham who joins the club after some time away from the game.  Jacquie has extensive experience and accolades at State level with NSW and WA and the club looks forward to what she will bring to the Women’s team.  Their training schedule will be announced soon.

Under 18s will this year be lead by Mel Cuschieri and Rod Fulton.  Both of these men have had great experience at junior level, and will focus on preparing the under 18’s for promotion through the clubs ranks.  The Under 18 training will most likely start in late January, but anyone who is keen, is encouraged to join the seniors from the 9^th of January.

The annual Northern Rangers Cricket match took place on Monday the 3^rd of January 2011 and this year it was a 25 over aside match rather than the traditional 20/20.
