Ranger Girls surprise Somerset

The Northern Rangers Women caught Somerset by surprise with a fine display, thanks in part to Bec Wheatley’s amazing run of goal scoring form.  Wheatley scored her 5th hat trick of the season to lead Rangers to a 6-1 home win over the more fancied Somerset out fit who are sitting in 3rd spot.

Burnie go down to Ranger Girls.

The Northern Rangers Women’s side took a trip to Burnie for their game this week.  Burnie have been playing well, notching up wins against UTAS, Prospsect and Ulverstone Red, While Rangers have had some indifferent form with just the round 1 win against Riverside to date, but showing some real signs of improvement of late, and were looking to give Burnie a run for their money.

Bec Wheatley returned to some good goal scoring form and nailed a 1-0 lead for the Rangers in the first half with her third goal of the season.

The Northern Ranger girls have had some tough games against Burnie, and 1-0 would never be enough, Rangers worked hard all day and managed to get three more goals in the second half to burnie’s 2, Wheatley getting her hat trick while new comer Jo Brumby scored her first goal for the club, capping of a great win for the girls who are starting to find some form.

Ranger Women go down Fighting

The Northern Ranger women went up to Prospect to face off with the undisputed queens of Northern Women's football, with a less than ideal start.  The girls had just 10 players to start the game with and lost another during the game to injury, so closed out the game with just 6 girls.

They did however put in a spirited performance, going down 6-0 in very trying circumstances.
