At home, City found the back of the Rangers net within the first 5 minutes and again with the last kick of the ball but it was Rangers who dominated the game throughout the remaining 80 minutes.
Rangers were looking a bit uncomfortable in the opening 10 to 15 minutes although they leveled the scores through Zac Pearce on the 8th minute. From there on, there was not much that was going to stop this side, as they played the ball well through defence into midfield and forward to their front three runners.
Rangers not only spread the ball, but also spread the goal scorers within the team.
After Zac Pearce equalised, Shinash Tumzghi put Rangers in front in the 17th minute which were quickly followed by numerous opportunities before John Wani and Hayden Vandervelde made the score 1-4 shortly before half-time.
After the break, Rangers continued where they had left off and City who had now dropped their heads, were left chasing shadows Rangers lifted the tempo and within 10min of the restart Yitay Towns made it 5 followed by John Wani again on the 25th minute, Hayden Vendersvelde on the 27th minute and Josh Burke on the 30th, followed closely by a penalty taken by Yitay Towns (his 2nd penalty of the season) who placed the ball in the top right-hand side of the goal before Kody Heys finished the day for Rangers.
Scoring 10 on the day with John Wani 2, Hayden Vanderveld 2, Yitay Towns 2, Zac Pearce, Josh Burke, and Kody Heys 1 each, Rangers have shown that they are not relying on any one or two individuals to get the goals.
Rangers Under 18s Coach John Crooks, his assistant Mel and Team Manager Phil have been working these boys hard and to their credit this squad are living up to the expectations both on and off the park, and as long as squad continue to play in this manner will develop a worthy group of players for the future of the Club. Coach John Crooks appreciates that there is a long way to go, but stated that “as long as we keep working like we are, and playing as a unit we will be ready to challenge any side in the U18 competition”.
