Facing a new Launceston United team the Rangers Red approached this match with a balance of enthusiasm and trepidation.  Reds had played well in their last match against Riverside but went into this game knowing their opponents were stocked with relatively recent ex-premier league players.

Rangers Red started season 2011 with a fine win against Launceston City X Factor.  A few new faces have joined Rangers League 1 and the team was further boosted by inclusion of David Kanu, Hayden Vandervelde and Paul Ballard from the Under 18's squad.

A crisp Launceston evening greeted the Division 1 Rangers team and the travel-weary Devonport visitors.  An assortment of injuries, international call-ups, interstate engagements and other work commitments decimated the Rangers squad from its previously healthy size.

The finishing of Roger Mies was the difference between Rangers and Launceston City in the Div 1 match on Sunday at Mitsubishi Park. The home side rode out a strong challenge from Rangers to finish 3-1 winners.

Men's Div 1 defeat Launceston United

Division 1 Rangers shuffled the pack against The Premos due to injuries and the return of seven players. Despite the wholesale changes the side gelled quickly beating The Premos 5-1.

Rangers dominated the first 20 minutes with its fluid passing and solid tackling across the field.  Angus Livingston was a handful up front on his debut and scored his first goal for the club early on.
